Cal Sailing Club

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

I took my bike down to the marina again this afternoon.  I sat and watched the Cal Sailing Club for an hour or so.  I am thinking about joining in order to learn how to windsurf.  Except that I have to leave for the summer . . .

Lisa and Lorne come to Cal

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

Last week my sister, Lisa, and brother in law, Lorne, came to visit me in Berkeley.  I posted some pics: here.

We did quite a lot of stuff in one week – although, my favorite was renting bikes and taking them over the Golden Gate into Sausalito (taking a ferry back to downtown SF).  At the end of the day, I said that I really needed to get on buying a bike because I could have been doing that every weekend.  And, behold!  When I came back from work the next day, this was waiting for me in my studio:

(Although, I walked right past it without noticing until I got curious why there was a helmet on my pillow.)

Here are a couple more of the better pics:

I went on a 4 hour back ride today all around the East Bay shore including the Berkeley Marina.  Loves.

Dedicated to Diversity and Tolerance

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

lms08.pngYesterday I went to Circus Oz at Zellerbach; it was kind of a racier and more spirited version of Cirque Du Soleil from Australia (not Quebec). They had a big diversity and tolerance theme going throughout the whole show that was pretty awesome. They also had this amazingly funny (and often inappropriate) robotic dog roaming around and making fun of the little kids in the audience. It wasn’t quite as impressive as the Peking Acrobats (which are coming back in a few months), but they make up for it in spirit and originality. Cal Performances again proves how awesome it is.

I have also added a link to my amazon wishlist on the right – not because I think anyone will actually buy me any of that stuff (since it is kind of expensive because I buy myself all the cheap stuff I want) but just because it is kind of fun…

Also, this is the first time in awhile I have had time to sit down and listen to my playlist on amarok; man do I have good taste in music ;)

Longshore for … Heisman?

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

I will be away from the computer for the next 24 hours due to the opening weekend of College Football – in particular, I will be at the Cal/Tenn. game tomorrow evening. With that and the fact that Clemson opens up its season against Florida State, it seems likely that I will lose my 100-1 bet that Clemson will meet Cal in the national championship game for the the fourth straight year.

Finally…

“You know it. You tell the story. You tell the whole damn world this is Bear territory” ;)
